Site Changes - Update

The changes will be quite major accross the board and will be more of a site replacement than a make-over of this one.

All poster will need to formally register just the once, and after that you will need to log in, in order to place a post.

People not logging in will still be able to read the posts but will not be able to add a reply or post a new thread.

This appears to have been resolved now but it did cause some very angry people to be very close to taking it further.

We have to ensure this doesn't happen again and now that I have been made aware of the consiquences I have been asked by BSki to remove any post that could be seen to be deemed as libelous. I will do this without any prior notification to the poster but will follow it up with an email explaining why the post was removed.(all members must supply an email address when registering but this will not be made public.)

Anybody not agreeing to the terms and conditions of the site will not be granted access.

The security will be much much stronger and without going into detail any person guilty of serious bad behaviour will be removed from the site indefinately.
(We hate doing this and hopefully we won't need to.)

Changes to the site will commence almost immediately and will be ongoing until completion which is expected to be approx. May this year. The major changes will be left until May when the site is much quieter and therefore will cause less disruption. You can expect to see things like extra Smiles added very soon.

You will also be able to add photos to your posts, directly downloaded from your computer - these will of course pass through a vetting process first.

So all-in-all it's looking good for the future and I sincerely hope you will all embrace the new board and give it your support.

Often changes can be a pain and not everyone may like the new site and it will probably take a while to get use to it - but for the long term not only was it imperative to make these changes but it also shows that BSki does care about you and they have listened to your comments that I asked you for a little while back.

More news as I get it.

Pete

re: Site Changes - Update

Presumably these changes will not include allowing independent / impartial advice for travellers?

It was posted on this board - and anything posted on this board becomes the responsibility of the owners and their moderators. Therefore, and airing on the side of caution, anything that could potentially be seen a libelous has to be removed.

You can send whatever you like to the newspapers.

re: Site Changes - Update

So the content will be limited to inane drivel about whether its snowing and where to buy the cheapest booze and fags. Jolly good. Hopefully someone will establish a proper forum for Pamporovo and Borovets along the lines of the one that already exists for Bansko - transparent advice and with moderator(s) not on a personal ego trip.

re: Site Changes - Update

Personal ego trip is quite correct, any posts critical of the moderators are instantly deleted, but they are responsible for most of the problems on this forum and also Beachbulgaria.

No point changing the forums if they retain the same moderators.
