Hi.
Looking for some advise please. I am going skiing in Borovets for the first time (on 6th feb) and am now panicing that i should have bought helmets for us and the kids. Can you hire them in Borovets ? and is it nescessary for complete beginers. Any sdvise much appreciated. Cheers
Sandra, your kids should definitely have them(its a bit like putting a child in a car with no car seat or seat belt!!) Keep them safe. We've got them this year as adults and even though they may take a bit of getting used to, the amount of protection they afford, you can't really afford to not wear them. There are loads of places to buy, but like folk have said on here its quite a bit to hire them. there are loads of websites to buy one for kids and adults too. various prices/ ...

Thanks for your replies. I've left it a bit late to buy off the internet and no local shops (flying sat) Does anyone know the price to hire helmets in borovets?
Cheers
I'm also flying on 6th Feb and was debating on whether to buy a helmet. Decathlon do sell them - £12.99 for adults and I think £9.99 for kids - small price to pay for safety.
We bought some for our children 5 years ago and they are still going strong from Decathlon!! the one has been grown out of just this year so will go in the next nearly new sale, but i really would recommend them. I have one now too!!
Thanks for all your advise.
Havn't been able to buy helmets so hoping to hire in Borovets if poss.? Also will we need goggles?? (Nothing like leaving it to the last minute), flying out Saturday, can't wait.
sandra, you dont need goggles but you will need some sort of protection for your eyes, be it goggles or sunglasses.
you should get them cheap enough in borovets or maybe try tkmax or millets if you have the time.
Sunglasses are fine for sunny and dry days, but in heavy snow or rain then sunglasses offer very little protection and goggles are a must. I would recommend the yellow tinting ones as these are particularly good in foggy conditions.
