Smoking ban

Hi all

Just a quick question to all you lucky people that managed to get out to bansko this season. I heard somewhere that the smoking ban has been finally introduced into BG. Is this true and has anybody noticed a difference??

PS. Im heading out on the 12th of March & cant wait

Hi,I'm in Borovets at the moment and lucky for all you no smokers the ban seems to be very in force here,I'm a smoker and can't quite believe it ,the only places that seem to be ignoring it are the more adult orinrntated bars.

I agree with RIGS - there are health & safety inspectors in Borovets now and they have been warning owners that if they do not stop it, they will be fined, as will the individual - most restaurants have now removed ashtrays and put up signs.

In Samokov itself it is a different story.....what ban?!!

Well im a smoker- but i for one think its a good idea- i allways go outside for a smoke, thinking of the non smokers rights! (and kids etc)
Never thought they would be able to get it through in Smokey Borovets though! (thats wood burning smokey not the Tobacco!)

still smoking in Bnsko unfortuntely,think some pubs(friendly pub) and maybe some others have non smoking areas...but it is a problem,well for me it is...hate going home stinking of of cigerette smoke ans breathing it in

Martin , alot now have seperate areas for smokers in Bansko

Victoria restaurant for instance and a few others

i too hate my clothes smelling stale and smoke ridden too

I'm really pleased to hear that the smoking ban is being enforced. The one thing I used to hate about Borovets was the smoke!

=( oh booo what pubs can you smoke in still? do they all have smoking areas? or complete ban?

I was in the White Dog in Pamporovo last week and they have banned smoking.
Chepelare is much the same with the family bars and resaurants no smoking and the smaller bars which tend to be adult only continuing to allow smoking.
The restaurant under the old Hebros Bank has a separate smoking room.
