HiCan anyone tell me whether there are snow canons running in Borovets?
We fly out on the 2nd do you know if there is any new snow due, and also the temp?
As one report says one thing and another another here

They haven't worked today but piste bashers are up on Yastrebets now (we can just see from our balcony in Samokov!) They weren't working about 30mins ago but may start later / tonight / after the bashers! Will try and find out!re: Snow canons Borovets

Just got back from Borovets today (2 Jan). We've just spent a week there - started with a little bit of snow laying around (it did snow one night but not enough to make a difference) but when we left today there is hardly any left, it's too warm at the moment! Don't believe any of the webcams - the one on this site hasn't been updated since the 22/12 as they don't want to show you the brown slopes. Only lift working this morning was the button lift outside the Rila hotel - all others ...

Only lift working this morning was the button lift outside the Rila hotel - all others closed as windy or not enough snow on the upper slopes. Did have a great time and managed to ski a bit on all but the last 2 days although was very limited and conditions were awful - but unless some snow turns up soon this week's visitors will be unlucky. They said conditions haven't been this bad for as long as they can remember - usually have a good covering for New Year.
