I'm with louise, ignore the webcams - I've just got back and there was no snow in Borovets - we didn't ski once there, apart from a nursery slope. I'll keep my fingers crossed for people going out there. At least the beer and cocktails are cheap!! :-)Have to say, Inghams were worse than useless...

Guys, whilst I agree last week it was awful for you and you missed any snow, it is snowing today and is now settling, it's also much colder and Yastrebets is open. We obviously need a lot more to make much impact on the rest of the runs, but it's a start and at least means today's arrivals can get a bit of skiing in, rather than nothing!re: Snow canons Borovets
Only other thing is that it's quite windy as well, but again things are still looking much much better than they were....

Just got back from Boro. First 2/3 days could ski yastrebets but then winds picked up and they were closed as well. Outside Rila was crowded but OK dfor beginners and they were trying their best to keep that open. Other 2 nursery slopes were very brown and not really skiable at the moment. The top was bare as well - strong winds were warm and had destroyed the snow up top and there are no cannons up there. However - still had a gr8 time and better out there than bored at home. People tried ...

People tried really hard to help - on last day our kids had a days snow board lessons onthe bottom of yastrebets 3 where snow wasn't gr8, but ok for learnng new skill. Won't be put off by this - been told it happened once before about 25 years ago. However bad it is for us, think about those guys trying to make a living out there. Said snow due this week but was +6 degrees on our last night.

Snow cannons have been pumping out all last night and today on yastrabets. With the snow last night and today they are not in bad nickre: Snow canons Borovets
I'm glad there is snow there for yesterdays arrivals and hope it continues.Although there was absolutely no snow for us, at least we had the chance to go to Bansko.
If our Tour Operator hadn't stated there was no snow in any other resorts, which was untrue, then we might have had the chance to go to Bansko a few other days as well.

KasYou seem to be someone who gives it to you straight.
We are due out to Borovets on 30th Jan.
Should we be panicking?
We have not booked our 'Big Ski Pack' yet. Do you think we should wait until we get to the resort?
Keep us informed as your info is at least honest.

We're going out on the 9th Jan 2010!!!Please can someone let me know if it snows, at any time before we;re due to go out as I'm thinking should we cancel?!?

There is loads of snow here!! All snow cannons on go and very cold! Looking promising! Having a great time at the moment, I'm glad I didn't cancel, we can't control the weather, just one of those risks we run when booking a ski holiday!MattSki
