Snowboarding alone? Last minute?

I have free time from work and want to come to Bulgaria to snowboard. I'm a bit better than beginner, but I've only boarded on dry slopes in the UK before. I would appreciate anyone's advice...

Is it possible to book to come to Bulgaria last minute? Can anyone recommend a resort as affordable, good to board and meet people? If you come alone, is it easy to meet people? I've never been on a ski/boarding holiday before and none of friends at home have the time/inclination for it.

Thanks!

re: Snowboarding alone? Last minute?

Hi Alison, did exactly the same thing last year. Got a last minute deal to Pamporovo, accomodation on arrival, with full snowboard pack. Heading out to Boro this year at the end of Feb and doing the same thing, although there are a couple of ski bums tagging along.

Really easy to meet people, especially if you're taking lessons and if you go on a couple of the rep organised activities.

re: Snowboarding alone? Last minute?

Would you recommend just booking a flight and turning up? Or booking everything from the UK beforehand? Are any resorts better for last minute deals / going alone / price than others?

Thanks again!

re: Snowboarding alone? Last minute?

book it all from the UK. most compays last min deals do not specify resort but they are all good in their own ways. if you do want a particular one check the brochure run downs and comments on here to decide which you like the sound of (I say borovets but I'm biased. It is the most established and has the most for everyone) Crystal last min deals do specify resort which gives you a bit of a chance to plan stuff like meeting up with people. This sight is a good place to arrange that. Hope ...
