I was in Boro last week (I'm the numpty boarder who broke her wrist on the second day!). It went as low as minus 12 one day so thermals are a must.
We were wearing thermals, fleece, jacket, neckwarmer, hat and gloves, though I couldn't put gloves on after my accident. I took some photos up at the top of the gondola and my fingers were numb after about 1 minute's exposure!
It 'warmed up' to about minus 2 by the end of the week.
I went to Borovets in Feb 2005, it's the coldest I've ever experienced to date, -30 mid week at top Gondola station, ended up wearing everything I took to last the week all week, 4 base layers and my ski jacket. Though my ski jack was quite thin and cheap, invest in a desent one, TKmax for the best deal. If you're a novice skier and going into school take plenty of warm layers as all the learn slopes are on the top of the Gondola mountain, and that's were you'll be all day long, it's cold up ...

I have been to boro for the last 3years and lobe the place it can cold but I only where a t shirt and jacket hat and gloves and I seem to be ok it can cold up the top but a hot cocolate brandy always warms you up
We were there over Christmas and i wore thermal top and fleece plus ski jacket on the first day and thought i would disolve from heat after that just wore a t shirt and my ski jacket and wasnt in the least bit cold. think it all depends how much you feel the cold.
Just back from Pamps. It was minus 26 at the Top Station on one day with wind chill so you must have good quality gear that is breathable. Snow is excellent.
Apres Ski bar at the Perilick has a brilliant live band.
I was in Borovetz over New Year, and it was definitely up to -12 some days (nights much colder). I wore three layers, and was fine (I found a balaclava a must!) Just one thing to remember - be careful of watches and cameras in high (ie colder) altitudes. My watch stopped (but started again) working, but camera (new) died!
