First para should have read 'will be sold for little less than in rest of Europe'.

You ask the question, where is all the money going to come from???.
I know, from under there mattresses,They've got heaps stock piled.
You no,look at the carpark of the new flora complex and count the BMW's.Mercs and volvo 4x4's.You tell me they're on an average 150.00 quid a month!!!.Pull the other one. It's an illusion and of course the foreigners take the bait.Believe me there's money out there.......

most people are on a low income what you see at the big hotels are the same as in the uk they are either top business men or the top earners, look at the uk the govenment says the average wage is £20K how many people do you know that earn no where near that. don't take a few BMWs, Mercs parked in hotel car park and think everyone lives like that. my husband did some work out in romania with the air force their the pilots were on a year what my husband earns a month its crazy.

Fiona you are a million miles from the truth.

The wealth you may see, (and I'm not going to get drawn into a debate as to where they're wealth comes from) is light years from the situation of the real Bulgarian masses. I have scores of Bulgarian friends and I can assure you the bulk of the Bulgarian population live a very very modest lifestyle.

Just because you've seen a few posh cars, that does not alter the fact that there is mass unemployment in Bulgaria, and job security is non existant.

Ski instructors work at their job for just 16 weeks, then they have to find some other means of making a living. Most go to the sea resorts as waiters, or selling CD's for a pittance, that's if they can find work at all.

You have no facts to back up your comments, quite simply because you are totally wrong.

Sorry fiona i agree with pete yes the ski instructors may get paid a bit more than others but not a great deal, think what you pay for a weeks tuition which usually includes ski hire lift passes and the ski instructor, on average I would say they get about £30 a person in the group each group has around 10 to 15 in so max £450 a week for 16 weeks you do the maths its not a great deal! you only have to look at some of the towns you drive through to get to the airports, look at the big picture ...

re: Sofia formally applies for 2014 Winter Olympics

Ski instructors work for 16 weeks in the resort.
I have no objection how much they earn as most of them that I have met are proper characters, and play hard.!!!
There season wage is enough for them to all shoot off to the coast for summer and not have to work for the rest of the year.(If they so choose to)....
So, PP, yes I do have the facts to back me up on this one.
Sorry mate,open your eyes.

Words fail me.

Please ignore the fact that I have spent over a year in Bulgaria.

You obviously know the country far better than me. Confused

re: Sofia formally applies for 2014 Winter Olympics

when i went last year my snowboard instructor told me he got 7.50 lev a day (roughly £2.50), there is no way there season wage means they could live at the coast for the rest of the year without working.
