It is with extreme sorrow that I have to announce the sad passing of one of our long time members of this discussion board.
Pete Sparkes otherwise known as Sparky on here has died suddenly of a stroke at the age of just 59.
Pete and I skied together many times in Bulgaria and he was a great friend. He recently purchased a property in Chepelare along with his wife Jenny and they had big plans for their retirement in a few years time.
All our thoughts and love should now be with Jenny ...

Gosh so sad, I was speaking to a friend of mine Pete Hugo who said a close family friend of his had past away. They all skied regularly over the years.R.I.P. Sparky.

Pete that is so sad. I had recently had quite a lot of correspondance with Sparky. He was originally from Chelmsford and we had been discussing schools there. He had been at Kings Road and subsequently Rainsford. He seemed a lovely chap - very friendly and was very much enjoying being in Chepelare. I am extremely sorry to hear of his passing and sad not to have met him. We were gearing up for meeting in Feb 2013

This is a very sad time for us as a family but thank you all for your kind words.
What PP said is right, Pete suddenly had a stroke on Saturday 21st April and never recovered from it, he Passed away on Tuesday 24th April very peacefully and in no pain.
Bulgaria and this forum were very close to his heart and it is a touching tribute to him to see all your comments.
