A few beers on holiday, no problem...
At the end of the day, even if you are drinking coffees its cheaper in BG...
Anyway, everyone to their own, it would be a boring time if everyone thought the same Wink

I wouldn't drive after 2-3 pints cos a) I'd be very unable n b) I would'nt have to as everything is very close nit in Boro, slopes, bars, hotels n equipment. So all in all bring on the pints n enjoy!!! Booze

Bit of a generalisation about the "whinging english" aiden. You'd think you would be used to it - after all you are living there....or are you just too 'thick' to learn another language - like all the paddy's?

Many of the posts about Bulgaria are comparisons to previous visits...and therefore valid to those of us who have frequented the place - and I, for one, am grateful for the heads up.

Have another guiness and chill out - gwan. Gwan gwan gwan

Aidan..I'm with you on this. There are a lot of very negative posts in this forum and I think you have to take some of them with a "pinch of salt" i.e People posting negative stuff just to get a response!

Tripadvisor is just the same. If you believed it was as bad as all you read you'd stay at home in bed!!

PS I'm Scotish ...and living in England!!

re: Stop slagging off

Your inferiority complex is showing. I was merely noting that some people liked their vacations to focus on skiing and some on cheap beer and pizza and made no value assessment on whether one was better than the other, merely that I prefered the skiing bit. Each to his own.

Hi All,

I own a studio in Boro and learnt to ski there. I have been to Boro 7 times in the last 4 years and love it there.

The wife and I are getting a bit to good now and can ski most of Boro in a day so last year went to Andorra and last week went to Val Thoren (France, three valleys).

Andorra wasn't much more expensive than Boro if you are like me (tight) and hunt around for cheap places to eat and drink. Val Thoren was ludicrously expensive £7 for half a litre of beer (Not even ...

Andorra wasn't much more expensive than Boro if you are like me (tight) and hunt around for cheap places to eat and drink. Val Thoren was ludicrously expensive £7 for half a litre of beer (Not even a pint) and £10.50 for a tiny G&T.

My opinion to all is that Bulgaria is great for learning to ski as you will never benefit from the 600Km of runs in the three valleys. We also had poor visibility for most of the holiday and only skied about two thirds of the time.

I would always recommend Bulgaria to anyone who wasn't skied for more than 5-6 weeks or if they want a skiing holiday which will cost half of France. If someone else was paying I would go to France every time as the skiing is so much better for intermediate/advanced skiers.

Good post Aidan, although I do agree with whinging englishman that your post is not entirely accurate...

Although there are those who just post completely over the top negative posts I think a lot of the complaints on here are actually complaints about Bulgaria now compared with years gone by.

I for one, having been to Borovets 6 times in the last 7 years, decided to go elsewhere this year as a result of less satisfaction in Borovets recently. Don't have any massive complaints with ...
