Grand Kempinsksi, Lion, Perun, Strahzite are all in the reach of the gondola....

Thank you oldieski. The search is on for me now, 5 days until we arrive! Knowing my luck, the snow will fall really heavy now in Boro! Although I will hope for that for everyone anyway lolSara

I stayed at the Lion hotel in Borovets in Jan 09 & Kempinski in Mar 09, I thought Bansko was a better resort for the ski runs. I think it's probably higher than Borovets and they certainly make good use of the snow canons. We are staying at Kempinski w/c Sat 9th Jan because it was a great location (opposite gondola). As far as I could see it was the only hotel where you could ski direct to the side door to the boot room. The other major benefit is the queueing advantage as you come ...

I heard the lion and strazhite are also pretty good but you have to walk in your ski gear or get a minibus.
Anyway, I hope it snows in all the resorts and I agree with one of the above comments that the queues are probably due to new year.
