re: The Message Just Isn't Getting Through!

had'nt given much thought to helmets until last year one of our party took a bad fall and was lucky to escape with just a large bump on her head. Shortly after returning home we heard the news of Natasha Richardson's death and that was that we went straight out and bought helmets for this year. Have tried it on several times and i must say it feels very comfortable. We are leaving for the airport shortly, so will let you know tomorrow if it is an improvement on the itchy, scratchy woollen ...

Doitman, i wear a helmet, first time this season, after over thirty years of skiing... Not because i feel safer nor that i feel the need for safetys sake... but as in wearing a cycling helmet in the summer guiding MTB's, guiding in the winter i feel i should set an example for guests. A little like demanding that our passengers in our buses should wear seat belts, i feel that if there was an incident that involved an injury and someone was not as protected as they could be i would feel a ...

I must admit that i would ski without a helmet on occasions, as i would also ride a motorcycle without. I will also admit to sometimes not wearing a seatbelt Wink

Thank you Nightmuffy and Steve C for your comments, you sound like completely normal, sensible people, there is something about PP's tone of phrase that gets my back up on subjects of choice. Very Happy Very Happy

Personally I cant believe people would even consider skiing/boarding without helmets!!!
I saw the big patch of blood left from Arrons accident! Not Nice!
My youngest (9) did a jump on the last day and caught an edge on his snowboard tumbled several times and landed on his head!! Thank god he was wearing a helmet!!
My boys put their helmets on (and us!) without any question whatsoever, they are just used to it!

All my fault again Confused

I try and advise people to be careful and protect themselves against the unforeseeable and I'm getting dear Niki's back up Neutral

God almighty surely there's better things to complain about Niki?

You seem to have a go at just about every post I make these days, maybe I should advise people not to wear helmets - is that what you would prefer?

Cool

re: The Message Just Isn't Getting Through!

P,P I support your advice for helmets all the way. My wife and I mainly board we have always worn helmets. At some point we have both come to grief and smacked our heads, my wife worse than I, she has had blurred vision and the like. Without helmets I'm sure it could have been worse for both of us. I don't agree with making it compulsary but only a fool would choose to ride without one.

re: The Message Just Isn't Getting Through!

Came back from Bansko this morning. I bought a decent helmet in Bansko for 60 lev - £30. Or I could have hired one for 5 lev - £2.50 per day.
Thats fantastic safety at very low cost. It the first time for me to wear a helmet and it was very comfortable
