re: The PRICE Thingy

Well Im off in April first week and its always snowy then still!! but anyway go then te slopes will be far emptier and as its kind of off season its much cheaper.

Also avoid the British bars find old traditional places. I know I'll not be spending more than 2.5lev on a beer also as were staying in my appt will have a number of cheap drinks from the supermarket before heading out for food.

If it was 3.50euro a pint that's at least a 6x price hike. If true that is totally shocking! Serbia doesn't even have the "EU" excuse. I'd be very interested in seeing the report.

I went to Bansko a year ago, French Alps at Xmas, and going to Bansko again in March. Alps was the cheapest, surprisingly enough. But only because we picked up a cheap last minute deal, and because with kids in tow we couldn't indulge in Apres ski.

If someone is hunting for a bargain, I think they'll find a better deal in the Alps. Perhaps that's because there's such a huge amount of accommodation available, there will always be deals to be had at off-peak times. But the prices in bars ...

If someone is hunting for a bargain, I think they'll find a better deal in the Alps. Perhaps that's because there's such a huge amount of accommodation available, there will always be deals to be had at off-peak times. But the prices in bars and restaurants aren't discounted in the same way. So it depends what kind of holiday you're after. If we'd booked the same holiday in France at a peak time, and in advance, like we did with Bansko, it would have been massively more expensive in the Alps.

I can't see how the brochure price of Bansko could approach that of the Alps in the forseeable future. I like Bansko, but the scale of their ski operations - the number of runs and lifts, and their efficiency - is dwarfed by the place I went to in France. If it cost the same, you'd be mad to go to Bansko purely for the skiing.

Went for new year and all of us fell in love with the charm and atmosphere of pamps! Will we go back? I dont think so due to the seriously corrupt undertones associated with MONEY we experienced, being ripped off at every turn really puts you on edge. A holiday should be a relaxing experience however we felt we had to watch our backs. When i complained to a rep about increase in prices and being blatently ripped off by locals i was told not to take it personally as 'they rip everyone off ...
