They Broke My Boots!

Jus ttook my boots back to the shop as after a week skiing they were still causing me pain dow the outside of my feet.

They've put a small bubble near the little toe to stop it getting cramped under the one next to it as when i was skiing last week my feet would ache and when i took the boots off i couldn't move my little toe and one next to it for 30secs to 1 min.

They've put a small bubble near the little toe to stop it getting cramped under the one next to it as when i was skiing last week my feet would ache and when i took the boots off i couldn't move my little toe and one next to it for 30secs to 1 min.

After heating the boots the left one went fine but the right one they lapped the plastic over the wrong way and caused the front decor on the boot to pop off! My boot is now in workshop to get fixed. It's a bit like a button that holds it to the boot but because there is no hole at the top he couldn't get it back on there and then...

Has anything like this ever happened to anyone elso... i'm worried that it'll come back funny after being heated up etc... the boot was really floppy!

I've had nothing but problems with these boots and i'm really gutted lol. All i want is a pain free boot.

Thank in advance to anyone who replies

re: They Broke My Boots!

I have to say they sound like they are the wrong size, your little toe should be free and not stuck under the toe next to it,sounds as though the boots are to narrow in which case the retailer should change them for you with no questions...

They are not fit for the pupose you bought them for so i'd ask the to change the boot or refund your money...

re: They Broke My Boots!

I had the same problem last year with painful boots. 1st pair I'd bought and got them from decathlon. Went into Snow and Rock this year and reason boots caused me problems was they were completely wrong size. Maybe you need to start again with a new pair. Also are your ski socks too thick? Worth spending a bit more money on socks rather than just skitubes.
I therefore have a pair of Rossignol xena boots size 25.5.to sell if anyone interested! Worn for only 4 days last year in Bansko( I was ...

re: They Broke My Boots!

I had to get a volume reducer added to the boots as had side to side movement originally so they were a little too wide but the right length

My little toe didn't feel crushed originally when wearing them around the house but after skiing it did so i put just the liners on and could feel a very slight pressure so they heated them and stretched it there where the pressure was then did the same with the boots. I can now move my little toe from side to side (slightly) without my foot moving ...

My little toe didn't feel crushed originally when wearing them around the house but after skiing it did so i put just the liners on and could feel a very slight pressure so they heated them and stretched it there where the pressure was then did the same with the boots. I can now move my little toe from side to side (slightly) without my foot moving so i am hoping this will have done the trick. It has definately opened my eyes to what to look for when buying boots!!

It's strange, my feet must be odd because i get pressure at the same point in all shoes but becasue they aren't solid it doesn't cause a problem. It was pressure i only noticed after my ski boots probs but definately there in all shoes, i just tried lol.

Just can't wait to pick my boot up on the 18th after it's been in workshop getting rebuttoned at the front so i can wear them a little in the house then get to castleford to try them out... I am hoping that now there is no added pressure around the little toe i will no longer get pain down the outside of my foot.

I think, legally, you should be entitled to a replacement pair - they're clearly not fit for their purpose ... and the retailer broke them!!
I'd go back and ask for a replacement or full refund - and don't be fobbed off.

re: They Broke My Boots!

having a boot modified to fit your feet is very common, if your feet came out of boxes then there would be no problem, but seeing as they are all individual the needs for modification, so i would disagree with Tiger saying that the boot is wrong.... unless i have seen the foot and the boot it is difficult to comment...... there are many things which can cause pain in the area which you describe, lack of flexion at the ankle is the most common [boot feels fine standing in it and then starts ...

Whatever the modification the shop should not have damaged the boot during the work, modifying ski boots can change the appearence a little but there should be no damage done, if the boot cannot be repaired then it should be replaced, but do not panic yet.

what make and model is the boot, not sure which bit you are talking about, but if it is just a decal /cover then it should be fairly easy to repair/replace

re: They Broke My Boots!

Hi Colin,

It's a head dream thang 10 boot... it only needs the yellow cover to be popped back on, it's like a button but only has hole to it to go on the underside as to make the top smooth. just gutted that i've had to leave it in workshops! The pain was more like a horrible ache along from the base of little toe along the side of the arch, it left my foot red down that side...

I wouldn't say they damaged the boot other than that popping off, it was purely accidental i saw it happen ...

It's a bit of a strange on cos i know you shouldn't have pain and boots can be tweaked etc to avoid this. I love my boots and just want them to fit right. I'm not going to be able to try them for a t least a couple more weeks!

re: They Broke My Boots!

Hi colin, having now known that they were originally to wide then the little toe thing should be able to be sorted..

I got a new pair of atomic hawx this yr and they fit like slippers, but the shop said if they don't get them to fit right in 3 visits then your money back no quibble...

I'm guessing that Rachel has been back and for a few times that i know of,and if the boot was to wide to start with then it begs the question why sell a boot to someone when they are clearly to wide...

I don't pretend to know loads about boots but having got my first pair 2 months ago i do know how "some shops" will fob you off to just make a sale...

Tiger, if anyone on here knows anything about ski boots, it's Colin. Not used him myself, but I know of a huge amount of people that swear by (or at...) him.
