I stayed in Boro last year, Jan 22 for a week. We could only ski for the first two days, after that the snow was gone and didnt return.
We spent the week in the pub. It was good fun and we kept up the humour as people often do when faced with bad news.
The thing is though, in hind sight, on the plane home I thought........what was the point of travelling hundreds of miles, spending as much as a week in london with no snow and high prices?

Thats why I wont go back. I scoured this site before choosing borovets and fell for the old ' Its going to snow on saturday ' or, ' There is loads of snow on the top ' The fact is there never was and most of the posts are done by the local tourist board, fair do, cant blame them.
I can however recommend the chilli peppers for a good all day session.
Please name the tourist board people who post most of the comments on here Adam?
Fair play - you had a bad experience, but don't make up things that are untrue. I have said for weeks that going early season in Bulgaria is now a risk. If you choose to take no notice of that then that's your choice.
Spending as much as a week in London?!?!? We were in Borovets on Boxing Day for a week and yes there was a severe lack of snow, but we made the most of it, went to Bansko a couple of days and enjoyed the bars in Borovets. I ended up spending about £200 max which included lift passes in Bansko, lunches out and drinking, so it can't really be compared to London!!! Bearing in mind every bar does buy one get one free, personally I think Borovets is a bargain! Would I go back.... yes I would. We ...

We didn't get to ski there which was a real shame, but as a resort it was cheap and friendly.
Adam,
You used a forum sponsored by a company that sells holidays and properties in Bulgarian Ski resorts. Did you expect them to say theres no snow?
If you want independent snow forecast information go to snow-forecast.com, they will charge you to get the full use of the site, but you can get a free 6 day forecast for almost any major ski resort.

6 days to go!!
Boro is a fantastic place (with snow). I dont think you can get an atmosphere like it anywhere else. Mixed in with the fantastic tuition and cheap prices compared to the alps. We learnt to ski in boro and have been three times in total. We have been the alps the last three years and are going again this year, but are thinking of going back to boro next year. Value for money, boro is fantastic. A full holiday for the cost of a lift pass in the alps cant be bad. Its just so disappointing its ...

Well according to their website they are independent, however they are supported by advertisers so I suppose they have to ensure they do not jeapordise their own position, however much of the resort snow data is supplied from resort either by ski club of great britain or another local sponsor, ie Hotel Avalon. Yes paul I can see where youre coming from. I guess the best way is to look at all the evidence and make your decisions based on that. I tend to look at the forecast for Bansko on ...

I tend to look at the forecast for Bansko on snow-forecast.comand compare it to what actually happens by confirming it on the resort webcams and forum posts, have to say they have been pretty accurate in my opinion!
