re: Tipping

Well said. I don't think its necessary to tip all the time but if you use one particular bar all week then I think its nice to tip on the last day. Never want to go skiing in France. I hear its one big ripoff.

re: Tipping

Have to agree Val, although i have spent the majority of my skiing time in France i must confess it was just for the skiing, not for the massive welcome most French extended to you (not)

re: Tipping

Hi Neil..
If people did not tip them they would still get 15 lev a day, the service industry even in the UK is notorious for low pay, gratuaties such as tips tend not to be taxed (they would if they could), this provides additional income based on the individuals ability to actually do there job well and be judged by there customer.
Service charge inclusive billing is an insult on the customer, paying for something that they actually may not have received,,,

Granted F&S were described as short sighted and ignorant by a replient, a bit of tit for tat methinks. There will always be `two camps' on any issue but i do agree in principle with your comment, that is my prerogative (should be a bl**dy politician)

Must agree Kell.
It just goes to show that some people take things foo personally.
This is an open dicussion board and all opinions should be encouraged.I for one think that many of the Bulgarians who work in the ski industry around Pamps are taking the PISS when it come to the English .(just look at their taxi fares I swear that a London cab is probabaly cheaper!!!

I ski in Bulgaria becuase I CAN NOT afford to go elsewhere even though I LOVE the activity.
So those of you who TIP BIG and keep moaning about us poorer English skiers should try the USA where the skiing is suposedly grear everything is top dollar and where they demand a tip of at least 15% for every service provided...........so go Fraser go Sarah and all the people like you and leave Bulgaria untainted from the lust of greed and capitalism....................................................................................so that people such as me can afford it without being priced out of the sport.
