Update on missing snowboarder

Having looked at the webcams and seen the most beautiful sight of Bansko this morning it is tinged with sadness knowing that they still have not managed to locate the missing snowboarder Sad Report says they are 'hopeful' but bear in mind this happened yesterday morning - that's a long time under snow Sad It must have been a huge avalanche.

No need not be scared of going. Bulgaria has less avalanches than any other european resorts, this is mainly to do with the fact that it snows less, hence less snow less avalanches. Also as in pamporovo the ski runs are windy on tree covered slopes, thus preventing avalaches. The lost snowboarder was an instructor in banko in previous years and took a risk by going off piste without any safety equipment ( gps, shovel ) and should of known the risk of avalanches at the time. There is a reason why insurance companies won't insure you for going off piste, it's so bl**dy dangerous.
However stick to the pisted runs and you'll be as safe as houses. have a great holiday Razz Razz
