Yesterday I asked 5 questions, and a big thank you for the big response. The results proved pretty conclusive, and gave a BIG thumbs up to Bulgaria.

Here is how you voted....................

Well I consider that to be one BIG well done to Bulgaria!!!!!!!!

But what can we learn from this simple survey?
The first point is that we ALL agreed 100% that our holiday was good value for money, and that is without doubt a major plus on considering where we go next year. I would love to ski with the rich and famous, but with ski passes @ 40 quid a day????? Not likely!!!!!!! Many of you skied this year with kids, and we all know your main objective is for them to have a great time and want for nothing. In Bulgaria this is a reality not a fantasy, and the kids are the future for all resorts.
Without them, the place would be a poorer resort and I for one just love to see kids no older than 4 skiing down the mountains. They are the future of our sport, and also the future for our loved resorts.

Secondly, 1 in 3 had some illness in their party.
I was one of those. Sick for 3 days, although this did not stop me skiing, it put a dampener on three nights where I could not go out. I put mine down to a mild form of food poisioning and although I am not qualified to make any real point on this, I would suggest that 1 in 3 on an activity holiday is probably the norm for some form of injury or illness. I hope you wee not amongst the sickies, and if you were, I sincerely hope you were well looked after.

Next I asked about the skiing condition, and 82% of you were satisfied. Some good points were made regarding the snow and weather being beyond anyones control, plus those of you who have skied the Alps, America or the like may have found the variety of slopes less challenging, but 82% is pretty conclusive in my book.

82% were also happy with thier accomodation. Noise was a factor in some cases, but you are on a fun-filled package holiday and noise can be a part of that. Food seemed to be more of an issue in Borovets than Pamporovo based on what you reported. The accomodation is improving year-on-year, and expect even more improvements for next year in the Perelik and Morgavets. Please take note on what others have experienced when considering your accomodation for next year.

Now the BIG one, and even more a big concern if you have yet to book for 2005. A staggering 85% of you intend to return next year. Add to that new friends that those 85% will bring, plus new people that come every year, plus those who will return from the past, that all adds up to one thing...a shortage of places for 2005. Emma has just phoned me to say she was unable to get a room in the Morgavets for Jan 22nd flying out of Gatwick. She has got a room now, but will need to fly from Manchester. And that is booking nearly 12 months in advance!!!!!!!!!
So my BIG final words to you is...... If you intend going next year BOOK NOW!!!!!!!

Hope you found this little excersise interesting, and I also hope that you were in the majority who had a really fantastic holiday. For those of you who did not, and will not return, we wish you great skiing in 2005 wherever you chose to visit.



Pamporovo Pete

A quick point if I may. It's good to hear the majority (by a big margain) are enjoying Bulgaria. However, I'd be very surprised if the results would be any different. Simply because, in my expereince, most people who use this website are either first timmers or people that like skiing etc in Bulgaria. For those that didn't enjoy their holiday and have no intention of visiting Bulgaria again will probably not use this website.

Me I loved it, yeah there some question marks over the food, but overall what a great place to ski. Roll on 2005!!!!

Hi Pete good response for that was'nt it? I have skiied Austria though it dosn't count as I was 12 and Andorra wich was ok but I would not be in a hurry to go back lacking in charm and school type cafe places to eat not nice. I have a dream to ski Canada/ America and one day I will do it. But old Bulgaria has the greatest apeal because of its charm and warmth of the locals it really has got under my skin and I am like a kid waiting for xmas to come until March 13th! It offers superb value for money and you gets what you pay for. I would urge everyone to give it a go but please go with an open mind if you like 5 star service and hot and cold running maids then well sadly Bulgaria is not for you. But if you want to ski have fun at night and come away feeling that was money well spent then GO!
