Thanks all
I have started a course of Acupuncture as its also causing Siatica down my right leg!
Most medications dont agree with me so can only take Codiene for the pain, hopefully attending Physio again next week for exercises!
I will ski on one leg if necessary! (well try to anyway!)
Hi Ian, sorry to hear of your injury, I have had similar injury in the past, my doctor reccomended:
1. Anti inflamitory drugs (diclofenac about the best)
2. Phisio or chiropractor
3. Regular gentle walking as soon as pain permits, 2 or 3 mile or so per day if possible.
I had 3 sessions with chiropractor and followed the walking advice after a week or so resting, the sciatica eased after a few weeks and I was back to work after 5 weeks, pain free after about 10 weeks.

Luckily was able to get an excercise plan from a trainer at work to strengthen back, this was about 5 years ago and hasnt reccured.
Hope this is some help, good luck with your recovery.

PS: Adrenaline is a very good pain killer (albeit temporarily), so get out and throw yourself down the Tomba run at the earliest opportunity, haha.
Thanks again guys (an Galls)- have purchased an inversion table too, delivery within 48 hours so hope that helps as snow plough said!
Don- i did take your Tomba run in jest mate!, although i must confess a good fast black run can take a headache from the night before away
God these DIY put togethers take some understanding! the "inversion table" arrived today and 1. it takes up some considerable space! and 2. spent the last couple of hours trying to put it together- have given up as i have a part assembled at the begining the wrong way around!
Try again tommorow!
Ahh well- as long as it helps!
at last got the thing put together!
quite a funny sensation being upside down for 5 minutes, felt all faint and flushed (completley forgot about the back!) wonder if thats whats supposed to happen!
cheers time for a
Hi snow plough-
i was upside down on this blooming inversion table today- after i had enough blood to the head and feeling quite dizzy - i attempted to swing myself back to horizontal position- only to find out i couldnt!- i was left upside down for ages and got quite a scare as no one else in the house for hours!
i eventually managed to wriggle my feet out of the grips after about 15 minutes of trying! and managed to drop to the ground (upside down still)
Not sure i want to go back on it ...
