Hello Matey.

I'm one of those 'not very happy' people quoted in an earlier reply.

I got a last minute booking and the Travel Agents couldn't pre-book the ski package as there was only 5 days before departure (I go on saturday 3rd to Borovets).
Tried to pre-book via this website but was turned down because I was going through Inghams - even though I explained I couldn't pre-book with Inghams as it was too close to the departure time.

Still a solid 'NO' from the ski-hire people in Borovets - how pathetic and not at all professional!

This is my 3rd time to Borovets but will probably be the last. Too many Beggars, Prostitutes and street vendors hassling you whenever you step out of the hotel, and not enough 'can do' attitude.

The cheapness of the country doesn't make up for these - probably Andorra or the Alps next year.

Steve

re: What's happening here?

I cant understand why you are moaning about this site not being able to get you your ski pack when you didnt even book with them!
youve been to Bulgaria twice befor so you should know the score.

As for your quote "Too many Beggars, Prostitutes and street vendors hassling you whenever you step out of the hotel, and not enough 'can do' attitude."
I find this a sour grapes statement as for the last 8 years Ive come across 1 lad begging & only 2 ladies asking if I wanted any company.

the Bulgarian people will go out of their way to help you if you ask, perhaps if you learnt to speak a little of the language and mix with the locals you would see this, and not having the attitude that spending you money gives everybody a living and they owe you a favour.

Paul.
Where does it state that I have to book flight, transfer and accommodation with Profi Tours or any other travel agent before I can hire equipment?
I haven't seen it.....
I've had several emails from people in the same situation, none of them happy about this. Imagine the sort of remarks they will be making to their friends and families....

My wife and I are looking for property in Bulgaria. I think that says enough about how much we like the country and the people.

We probably won't be going there skiing again, just for summer hols and then renting out.

We all did learn a few phrases and yes, the locals do like it and go out of their way to help you.

I don't have any gripes with the country or it's people, just with the harrasment we got on both previous occassions. I feel the authorities need to clean up the resorts, especially as it is a family resort.

I'm not some party-pooper, quite the opposite, but i like to have a holiday without hassle to me or my family and without my young children seeing scantily clad (yes, even at 10 below freezing) plying their trade.

Maybe I should totally discard all my morals just to please some?

Have a good new year
Steve
