I reckon as already suggested that some kind of link via Facebook would help the Forum. People normally exchange email address and link up via FB if they want to stay in touch. Just look a Bobby and Kas on FB and I'd suggest that many of their friends don't participate on here. That said I do know of a number of people who follow the forum but are too shy to participate. There are few people on here Pete who know doubt that you know and happen to be Borovets vets like myself who do participate all year round but again there are people I know on the forum who seem to be able to switch off from skiing until about a month before they go. I think that somehow you will need to promote the site to new people.
Not so sure about that Del Boy/emjay. I think Facebook and Twitter are fine for what they do but (in my humble opinion,) I think linking them to this site could open the board up to the exact kind of behaviour that led to the mass evacuation of posters that included me a few years ago.
Well I think that somehow all 'new members' should receive welcome post or similar. I have noticed that some new posts don't receive any answer at all which is hardly conducive to continued participation. I think that some people may find their first few posts a bit daunting.
That's a very valid point emjay and I totally agree with your comments. I always used to try and
welcome every new poster to the board and I will try and continue that now I've returned.
But I think it's the responsibility of us all to make people welcome, both old and new to the site
and I'm sure we can all make people feel really welcome and instantly a part of the group from post one
if we make the effort.
The site needs to be promoted in the resorts or local snowdromes or ski shows maybe just wearing the good old bulgariaski polo shirt
In the resorts having a meet up at après ski doing PP s quiz or how about a treasure people leave a small pressie in the resort for the next weeks skiers to find
Just talking from my mouth without engaging brain as had a few pre holiday snifters hic hic

I think someone new to the forum would never move past the first page of each conversation is it is difficult to see page2.
