You should try the SB10's that I have got... They have a far greater width than the other Salomon blades, which gives pretty good float in soft snow - not as good as a full length ski, but if you keep the speed up, good enough to deal with most powder.
Some of the new Ski Boards comming out of Norway and America have similar profiles - almost 14 cm at tip and tail, and lengths of 99cm right up to 110cm now

I think that this is the way to go - Unless it's really out of bounds, I don't use my skis any more
There was something a few years back called 'ski elevoutiv' (sp?) where you would start on very small skis and during the week they would get longer and longer. With the carvers you should measure them as you would a board, somewhere between chin and nose is fine. I loved my big heavy 200's too!
