Usually its better to get the bindings from the same manufacturer as the boots are... They are made to suit perfectly to those with same brand... but you just have to go and try out... You can have the best bindings on the market but if they dont match up with your shoes they are useless...
That's really interesting, I got salomon boots because they were the best fitting ones of all the boots I had ever hired, just by chance (price in sale & colour) I also bought salomon bindings and I love them together.
I've only had my cinch bindings ice up once, my daughters had a lot of trouble with their stap bindings this year. Having said that I don't feel they are much quicker than normal strap bindings. I have managed to get both feet secured while going up a drag lift, that can be handy.
hey all. in pamps now staying near ski station1 will send update soon.
re the bindings. i learnt years ago using a horrid step in board where th boots are like two lumps of concrete - neve again and for a few years after i used cinvenbtional bindings. saw a few guys using flows and they all gave me good feedback and was about to get them when it was suggested i check out the cincks.

they can be used either as conventional bindings or rear release. i use the latter more often than not but when i have been off piste the conventional straps have been no problem. i have the first genertion model and since then i believe they ave become lighter and more sturdy - not that i have had problems with mine.
at the end of the day it is what suits you = if you have th opportunity to try different pairs then great but only time will tll over a few weeks if you get on with them - good luck
I use Burton custom step-ins - but my advice would be not to bother if you're only boarding on mountains. I got mine cos I practise at a dry slope and it's much quicker - but I suffer on snow. I've heard the flows can ice up and be difficult. Burton have a system that clears the fitting of ice when you step in, but can still be awkward and I often spend more time clearing snow/ice away than it would have taken to strap up regular bindings. Also, I don't think they support as well as regular ...

Also - someone correct me if I'm wrong here - if you've alrady got boots then they won't work with most step in systems (apart from rear release)?? For Burton you need Burton step in boots.
If buying again I'd only consider regular or possibly rear release bindings.

I bought my first pair of bindings about 5 years ago, which happened to be flows. Can't recommend them highly enough. They look pretty dated now and will be checking out the K2's for next year, but they've done me proud.
You do have to remove a lump of ice occasionally and they are tricky to unclip in deep powder, but don't these probs occur with any bindings?
i have had my aliminium flows for about 10 years they have never broke even the plastic straps very light. as the straps are the fabric ones (very old) they can freeze up flows do mack great bindings. and would find it hard to change to anything else. would only cheak out the cinches. happy boarding.
