Bansko, looking at the snow coverage doesn't look to good do you think they will bring out the snow cannons or is it , it for this season

I don't want to put too much of a damper on things but I've just come back from Bansko and rumours are that they're shutting the mountain on Friday due to lack of snow and huge amounts of sunshine.
They are only rumours, so I hope you get a good holiday, but take your shorts and a sun hat!

CloI was watching “BBC World News” one day before breakfast in the Samokov in Borovets last week and I learnt that Snow Cannons do NOT work unless the temperature is below Zero…
All I can say is I hope you have more snow as it was disappearing fast while we were there.
On the other hand if you have Sun like we did make sure you take plenty of Sun Tan cream !

ThanksWell forecast is apperently that there is snow on
tuesday and monday next week so fingers crossed that
we see some
Ollie you know you said there are rumors that they are shutting down the mountain so do you think
they will , because where do you ski then ?

Hi Clo,Well i found that message on a different post but thought everyone else would need to see it.
My plan is to hope for snow but take plenty suncream and money for drinks. Looks like if there isnt any snow, plenty of friendly people to meet up with anyway.

Hey, i have just come back from Bansko and had a thoroughly great time. The pistes were ok, there hasn't been lots of snow, but they have maintained it very well. Up top, there is great conditions to be had all day. Lower down it does get slushy in the afternoons, but it is all good fun. I think the black run down in the afternoon keeps pretty good conditions all day, but not everyoone can ski that one back each day. The ski road, well i never tried it as it didn't look like much fun with ...

Basically, i am saying, don't worry about the conditions. They are good for a good time, and Bansko is cheap as. So you will enjoy yourselves no matter what.
