There was a thread entitled "unhappy" and the OP was just that, about the ski reps taking punters to a restuarant where they got free meals for doing so.
What happened to it? I just want to be sure that I didnt upset someone.
I have read your post Bradders and dont know where it has now gone however this was my opinion.
Its a well known fact that ski instructors in many resorts get there meals either discounted or free, in return for taking there students to a particular eatery. This doesn't mean the food is bad or expensive. Lets face it, the instructors in many of the eastern european resorts do not get paid a great deal and many have other jobs to supplement there income therefore if possible they will get ...

This doesn't mean the food is bad or expensive. Lets face it, the instructors in many of the eastern european resorts do not get paid a great deal and many have other jobs to supplement there income therefore if possible they will get perks where they can. This also happens in other main european resorts however you don't seem to notice it as much because there are more restaurants to choose from and are generally of a higher class.
I read the thread mate but sorry to say it was a tad pointless and as someone else mentioned that you are a big boy and have complete freedom of choice regarding when and where you eat! Plus you posted it twice!!
Not surprised it was deleted.
When I was in ski lessons in Pamps, we paid for our ski instructors meals between us all, so he was happy to eat anywhere we wanted to. At the end of the week it probably cost us 60lev between about 7 of us. its nice to stay in a group and I think thats why most people go along with the ski instructor.
IT WASNT POINTLESS - BENN are you working for a bulgarian ski shool or what ?
IF you go to other place the ski instructor gets angry and as I say the food at Kharma and The Black Cat where they "force" us to eat was really rubish.
You can go to other place, but speak about that with your ski instrukt. at first time.
I emailed you offline and explained very politely why it had been deleted. In addition to the first post, you posted it 5 times under headings that had nothing to do with it - eg: about snow conditions and people asking for information about apartments - ie: basically highjacking threads.
You also advised that it was all ski schools etc, but this is not the case - the independent smaller schools can go where they want to eat. If you had a particualr point to make, you could ...
John,
I emailed you offline and explained very politely why it had been deleted.
If you had a particualr point to make, you could could have posted it just once, made it constructive and got your facts correct. You could also (as per the above) simply stated you wanted to eat somewhere else and even if the instructor didn't want to and then met him afterwards. The post you have just made is far more helpful as it names the restaurants you believe were poor and in your defence, I think the same about the food in the Black Cat, although I have never eaten in Kharma.
Can I just clarify for the benefit of Ben and Simon, I didnt post the thread up, it was John Galvin, as you can see from his answer above.
My response to John was similar to, but a bit shorter than Simons.
The point of my asking the question about what happened was that I wondered if the thread had got a bit personal and I was hoping that it wasn't what I posted that contributed to it.
As your partner is a ski instructor, you are quite rightly in the best position to comment. So, can you clarify whether ski instructors get commission for taking their groups to restaurants.
