Have stayed at the Samokov hotel and it was fine. The room was warm, the food on a half board basis was OK when you consider the price paid for the total package.Also stayed at the Moura hotel, the room was warm, the breakfast was good for cereals, fruit, yogurts, toast, tea and coffee. It is best not to book the evenng meal (half board ) here.
What suits one person might not suit another person.

both hotels are fine have stayed at iglika 4 years and ela for 3 years this will be 3rd year in samakov all much the same warm cosy food fine just expect owt fantastic

Maybe try the Chamkoria appartements in Borovets, ok its 5km outside the center of Borovets, but therefore you have a breathtaking vieuw all over the mountain and the forest very good rooms, its very quiet, schuttle service, breakfirst and dinner on demand but very cheap
