re: Why Bulgaria?

Surely if you mention a TOD you are booking late which will be reduced to off sell the remaining seats. By waiting & doing this you are risking not even getting a holiday. In my experience school hols are always the 1st dates to book up so book early & take advantage of choice. I would take the kids out of school & go the week before or after. it never did me any harm & my spelleng is alllright ha ha

Dan The Man - There is always a 'but or an 'if' or a 'what happens when' etc. Particularly when discussing an alternative to anything or when people have a difference of opinion. Im sure this thread will continue with the usual stream of agreement/disagreement, regardless of what people say they have paid! Wink

re: Why Bulgaria?

Yes but you're comparing a 09 holiday to a next years price.

I was really interested in the quote you got from Thomson - until I realised that you'd only included accomodation for ONE person!

Believe me, we've checked out plenty of alternatives, but Bulgaria is loads cheaper for February half term week.

We did ski the French Alps for a week over New Year and it was superb - but we paid exactly double what we've paid for our week in Pamps, and the prices in resort were astronomical.

If we had a choice, obviously we ...

If we had a choice, obviously we wouldn't go in school hols - but I'm a teacher, so we don't.

re: Why Bulgaria?

No, it's not swings and roundabouts. If you want to compare two or more things, they must be as "like for like" as possible and from what i can gather, you are comparing a "late deal" with next years price. We all know the snow is better in Italy and Austria, but when it's a like for like comparison the difference in cost can often make up for the difference in snow quality.

re: Why Bulgaria?

Stevie d - which was my very point. Keep it like for like then! Be it snow, rain, beer or prices. 0.6m at the top is not like for like when Austria/Italy is 3m - unless of course the trumpet is being blown for Bulgaria.

Did you actually read the price for Bulgaria next year! Are you seriously telling me that its going to cost £800 +per person to ski for a week in BorovetsQuestion

I'll be of to Glencoe then Wink
