Humblest apologies - just found the holiday you've quoted. It is indeed reduced to £399 per person. The only problem is, it departs February 8th and half term doesn't start until February 14th.
Ah well ...
LizziSnow - never a good idea to jump in. Take a sicky.
The jist of the thread will also highlight the 'like for like' issue. Feb 8th this year/Half term next year - 0.6m compared to 3m - italy/bulgaria etc etc etc Still, not a bad price for Italy
Wow! Such negativity! We went downtown and bought four large pizzas and four pints for about £20. Not to be sniffed at...
The ski clothing in the shops was reasonable. I nearly came out with a ski jacket, until the missus dragged me away.
Meals and drinks in the hotel had gone up, but downtown, it was lovely. Skiing was great.
Overall, very positive
Try booking "DIY", we are going to Livigno (Italy) this half term for about the same cost as Pamps (flights, transfer and accommodation). Lift passes are more expensive but you get 115kM of perfetly groomed runs and they currently have over 2.5m of snow with nearly 1m predicted for this weekend.
Cost in resort is slightly higher, lunch for 4 about €24 and a pint is between €3-€5, but I go to ski not drink loads cheaply.

I love Pamps and have been for the past 3 years (including the bad year of 2007) but fancied a change and also was worried about the lack of snow (rightly as it turned out).
Dont be blinkered (either view) look around there are bargains to be had.
I would return to Bg but it would have to be a last minute job when the snow is good.
The last time we booked flights and accommodation separately, the airline (Excel) went bust. We're currently awaiting a refund of the money we paid for the flights from the CAA - waited five months so far. Because we couldn't get replacement flights (school hols again) we had to cancel our accommodation and we got stung by a hefty penalty for doing this. It kind of put us off doing that again ...
Lizzi, I can understand that!
We normally book flights with BG Air or Easyjet with everything else through this site except lessons which we do with Interski.
Had 3 brill years in Pamps, and wil deffo return again, but just fancied a change, but agree could not afford anywhere else if we booked through a tour operator.
