my 13th year in borovets this year and i cant help but love it, to be honest i do want to try somehwre else as well but then again id feel i was cheating on my favourite resort ever, the smokey village is the best explanation ever and yes opening the case when your home and getting the smell is the best smell ever, it has to be borovets all the way every year and as i have been a few times even the tramp in borovets knows who i am, i call him umm papa haha
There is just 'something' about Borovets that is special, and like you said, draws you back. Got back home on the 6th, after another brilliant week, with a great group of friends old and new. Now looking for deals mid-march, and keeping fingers crossed for lots of snow
OMG i feel exactly the same.. i want to go somewhere else to try it but i feel as though i would be cheating on borovets by not going back have been the 6 times every year and told my self that i would need to go elsewhere next year but bought a new group of friends there this year and now they love it and are pressuring me into going again (not that i don't want to), i love the relaxed atmosphere feels like i'm at home when i'm there and the ppl are so friendly i am scared to try somewhere ...

I LOVE BOROVETS!!!
Because everyone is so friendly, that's why. I've skiied all over and I find a lot of places in Europe quite snobby. Particulaarly Courchevel and Meribel. Courmayeur in Italy I found impersonal, Austria and Germany are fun, but many places are ski bus to pistes, I lived in Whistler ain Canada, loved it, but VERY busy. Borovets you know everyone in town by the end of the holiday
Its not Courchevel, much smaller ski area but i bet you cant go any where else were everyone is so friendly. Have to agree with Nicki. Already been to Italy this year, if snow ok plan on booking for 2nd week of March. Taking a friend who's only skiied posh resorts in France!! Might be a bit of a come down but i'm pretty sure as a whole holiday experiance she'll love it.
