Will Borovets have snow for New Year?

Hi,

Went to Borovets in Feb half term and absolutely loved it so going over new year this year, arriving on 27th dec. Ive been looking at weather forecasts and webcams the last week or so and found this forum yesterday.

What I was wondering is what the chances of actually being able to ski are, will the snow fall in time? I assume its normally snowed by Xmas?

who knows! they may be, there may not be. am sure there will be some at the top for sure tho! and the new chairlift will help up there! i arrive on the 27th dec as well! so lets hope the snowfairys come soon!
they have 15cm forcast over the weekend.....its a start!

As long as theres some at the top i wont mind too much! Been looking forward to it too much not to be able to ski when we get there! Out of interest, how much snow needs to lay to be able to ski on it?

I'd say a good 30 to 50 cm of compact snow minimum,plus the powder on top..

Bear in mind they had about 200cm on the Musala peak last season.

Off to Cervinia in Italy in 2 weeks,they all ready got 185cms plus out there..

Where are you staying? We were in the Breza last time and in the Moura this time. Glad to see the snow falling!
