Well I am suprised that bulgaria (presume its the same in the other resorts) is different to other ski resorts around the world....although I quite like them being different.
Things take a long time to change especially old pratices controlled by those that can. Many changes have happened since I first started skiing in Bulgaria mostly for the good.
I have NEVER had bad skiing instruction whilst in Bulgaria (unlike some european resorts) and as someone who often brings new skiiers ...

I believe it would be unlikely that 'good' ski instructors leave due to this as Im sure living away (ie another country) would be far less financially viable than staying and 'having' to do 2 weeks work on the slope.
Ok its not good.. they have to do it for free ( to get the benefit of cheap lift pass) but sometimes thats the way of the world, time will bring change, lets hope its for the better.
To all the Ski instructors who are out there clearing 'WELL DONE' I appreciate it. If I was there I would help out....

I do a job that's all about local knowledge, however nothing to do with mountains! Being on the mountain when there is no snow builds that knowledge and I expect any good ski instructors to know their mountain. It is also the instructors that know where its best to concentrate their efforts. Also great for team building within the group.I posted, 3 posts back under the wrong topic. They dont have to work and many of them in Boro are working for the summer tourism. Its an all year job for some who work for Borosport. As it is quieter in summer they can keep all employee's on. Those that wish to join in on these 2weeks do get discounted lift passes for their work.
Our friends do it and appreciate that they get a cheaper lift pass for 2weeks work where they may not be doing anything elsewhere. Unfortunately for those that do work at coast etc they do have to pay full ...

It is a good idea summer work for discounted or even free lift pass for the Winter.It also is good for the community lots of integration new friends etc.
Also ensures there is pride in the work they do.

Hahahha doubt that sometimes Gareth some do as little as poss. though it is hard graft. But they do meet people etc etc.The Baba's do it here in bansko in the middle of summer with their headscarfs...... poor buggers!!!
