I went to Bansko last year and Borovets the previous year on my own. It's a big old skiing community out there and you will be welcomed.
Take lessons and you have an instant group to ski with, the lessons are morning and afernoon and groups tend to stay together for lunch. Just hang in the hotel bar and other bars in the evening.
I had a ball.

Doug, I went to Bansko last year and Boro the year before as well! You going back this year? Which resort do you prefer?

I'm going to Sauze D'Oulze this year, but Bansko is without doubt the best place to ski of the two. I preferred the town too, more 'real'.

Chris I first went in98 on my own, but that was learn to ski and I had a fantastic time the whole group clicked and I was never alone unless I chose to be.

The group I am going out with this year is from skidvd take a look at the webste if you have not already.

Last year I went with teenagers and made adult friends to ski with no probs

I always go alone! and I know a lot of people since then.
This year going with SkiDVD too! woohaha even I'm from Belgium and English is not my motherlanguage, I still gonna do it
