re: YOUR VERDICT!!

Just think of the way we have our roads policed.I am not advocating a policing. Just think ,that when we drive we have protection around us in the shape of a car.On the slopes we are only protected by the behaviour of ourselves and others around us !
Lets hope that we can trust everyone to police themselves to provent accidents.

im with u T.T its scarey doing a slope for the first time.all i know is my 1st slope was white, but my knickers we'rent by the time i was at the bottom.i wasnt as scared of my control as i was of the nutters weaving in and out of groups of people ,skiing as close as the could for kicks.but god did i laugh when they wiped out in front me and i snowploughed past them!they are better suited to the chicken jump and the wall surely.

Bansko has snow patrols with the power to conviscate your lifts pass if you are reckless. I agree with you Tim. A lot of resorts around the world have snow patrols and Pamp should think about it.

I was there last week and the green does get very busy. One death in Borovets this season already due to a collision just waiting for the same to happen in Pamps.

re: YOUR VERDICT!!

Another point to add here is that we all know or should know that skiing or boarding are not for the faint hearted and these are dangerous sports and should treated with respect but there will always be some idiot who thinks he is the best skiier ever and he is the idiot who can ruin a great holiday.
All we can all hope for is for us all to be safe especially the children and for those of us who have still not had their holiday yet be safe and have a great time..

re: YOUR VERDICT!!

I think if you are going to police runs you need to apply it to all and not just greens. As Robo pointed out, there will always be idiots who ski/board beyond their actual ability and they will simply use a blue, red run or black run to get their reckless kicks if they can't get away with it on the greens.

And you don't want to put people off taking up skiing or boarding. Where else can a novice lose control, if not on a green run?

re: YOUR VERDICT!!

could you not get people who are reckless on the slopes to pay up for a few lessons for them selfs, maybe they would learn a thing or two about control!!
what about slopes just for beginners?

my girlfriend was wiped out by a snowboarder, braking her wrist which caused her to miss the last 2 days worth of skiing on our holiday.

mmmmmm its a hard one to fix but with skiing holidays getting more popularand the slopes getting more crowded somethings gona have to be done.

re: YOUR VERDICT!!

Talking to Christo from the White Magic Bar in Boro on the slopes when out with him, and he feels that the patrols ought to come back.
He said that ski passes used to be confiscated for poor behavior (not novices losing control) as too many accidents are caused by reckless skiers not thinking/caring about others on the slopes.
Saw a guy break his ankle in front of me this year, sobering vision, I can say.
