A little while ago, I mentioned a trip made by Andy Capp, his wife Gerri and some friends from Swindon as they set about delivering a containers load of aid, clothes, toys, and goodies to some of the Orphanages in Bulgaria. Below are 2 links - part 1 and part 2 that shows how they got on. If part 2 doesn't have you in tears - then you're not human.
Thanks Pete - you need to watch these videos to understand what it's all about. It brings you to tears. Maybe one day something similar will happen for our forgotten kids in Stoikite.
I recognised Neven, the ex deputy mayor of Chepelare.
I think the second orphanage was Shiroka Laka ? for some reason they attract lots of help.
I wonder why Stoikite received nothing
Re the one in Chepelare centre, the big block I think they were in is now being done up. The children left some time ago, I wonder where they ended up?
Anyway it all looked luxury compared to the photos of Stoikite.
Hi Carole,
Sorry, but we only went to some of the orphanage's in the area. If we had been told of this one in Stoikite we would have gone to it.
Sorry we missed it.
Andy, this is not a knock at you - you were directed to the orphanages and you did what you could for them. Your visit must have been like a decade of Christmases all rolled into one.
Oh Andy, I didnt mean this to sound like a criticism . In fact I forgot to say well done all of you and to look on the children's faces it was magic. Children are children everywhere and all deserved to be helped. It was a real pleasure to see the film and must have given you all such a warm feeling inside.
