i visited both of those orphanages in jan 2006. it was really sad seeing it all... seeing that video brought back what it was like. im going back out there on the 1st of march to continue what we where doing. Amanda i must send you an email, im setting up another project outside of the one im involved in at the moment, im trying to build contacts and get more info, id like to help in Stoikite
yeah im really excited about returning to continue where we left off and also to see if new windows have been installed in the second orphanage which we gave money to do so. the group going on the 1st are 17/18 year olds.
the new project im hoping to set up will be along the same lines but working in new orphanages around the area.
Pmg We are complete novices at raising funds and we are all trying so hard, we would welcome further help and support, did you have time to visit the website that Andie put together http://www.orphanagestoikite-bg.org ? it is full of information with reference to the institute and the children, fund raising, pictures, visitor comments and much more, we look forward to hearing further from you.
hi Amanda, raising funds is a hard job but its something im continually doing, im hoping to have a Bungee jump and ab-sail at my college later this year to raise money for the new project. ive visited the website and read through it quite a few times, im currently gathering information to present to a few people and also making contacts.
PP you wrote "If part 2 doesn't have you in tears - then you're not human." What am I then If i didnt even make it a minute into part 1 without blubbing What a wuss
Just watched the videos - great to see that a difference can be made.
The final building / orphanage seen in part 2 was in Stoikite (its was behind the post office), although not the institute that the heating fund is being raised for. With all the changes over the last few years, I'm not sure if the kids are still there (I haven't seen any) - at one time there was talk of closing this one
