PP Didn't need to try reading your post--I actually read it. Try READING mine as well. Price negotiation is only a part and is not always as easy as you imply. Sure, for the likes of you (and me) and other seasoned travellers negotiation may play a big part, however to a newby it may not be so easy, and infact some drivers, if they form a local group, do not shift from their rate, especially if they have a closed market. The original questioner was not casting espertions but rather trying to clarify facts. Anyway it is great that you feel as strongly about BG as I (and many others) do but it does not hurt to TRY and reflect both sides of a particular issue. In fact there has been feedback from visitors to Pamporovo and S Beach complaining about 'rip off' taxi prices.

PP - can i reiterate (as you seem to have ignored my second message) that my query - a question mark normally denotes a question rather than a statement - was based on information in the Rough Guide rather than "hearsay"...and yes I do value the opinions of people who have been to Bulgaria many times which is why i posted my question in the first place.

Rather than abusing me could you - or anyone else - give me any advice on how much you think a taxi from Sofia airport to Bansko would cost approximately so that I know roughly what price to barter to?
