I think I may have added to your fears with me recent comments on Balkan flights I am sorry! I have flown on these old buses 3 times and honestly they are not to bad! Each time they have been TU 154s all post 1994 so not that old. Just dont look at the tyres and ignore the gaffer tape on the wings! Oh and the holes in the floor are for sticking your legs out of to aid in take off aka Flintsones style! The last time I flew was in 2000 with Hemes air the cabin door was a curtain! wich ...

Oh and the holes in the floor are for sticking your legs out of to aid in take off aka Flintsones style! The last time I flew was in 2000 with Hemes air the cabin door was a curtain! wich was left open on take off! Pretty cool actually. The best was on the return flight we taxied out at Plovidiv and our stewardess had just stood up to start the safety demo when without warning the pilot opens her up( the plane guys the plane!) and we are hurtling down the runway! The look on the stewardess faces was hilarious and they ran to their seats the whole cabin erupted into laughter. Then once we where up and level they got up and continued the demo priceless!!!
Don't worry about the planes too much. They aren't great but they get you where your going. The only big problem i had was on the return flight. We flew during night and there was a nasty stream of freezing cold air coming from outside so i nearly froze while sitting by the window. However, this was in the summer so i wasn't wearing very warm clothes. If i'd had a big coat on i wouldn't have cared. Also, on the way there we sat in the first row and upon take off and landing we were told to hold the tables against the wall so they wouldn't fall down and smack us on the knees.
But other than that we had no problems and the planes arrived ahead of time in both directions. Just ignore the rattling noises and you'll be fine.
DONT LET THE AGE OF THE PLANE WOORY YOU, MOST SMALLER AIRLINES USE OLDER PLANES TO CARRY PASSANGERS, I HAVE SEEN THEIR FLEET IN BULAGARIA AND I LIKE THE TU 154.IRS A BIT LOUD ON TAKE OFF AND LANDING THOUGH SO TAKE SOME HEAD PHONES

Don't these planes normally have FOUR engines
Hehehehehehehe
we had to push start ours on the way out
great on the way back, only about thirty people on the flight so loads of sleeping space.

I remember taht was the one that shut down during our flight last year 8th march. Wife vowed never to fly again but we are going back in february couldn't have been that bad for her to go back.
