Hate to disagree Kristian, but it's little short of hard work, but sometimes preferable to the garlic scented gondola ride. It's much easier on skis.

Paul.

If you can ride flat out over washboard at 35mph you'll be ok, as nowhere can you afford to shed speed. If you glide it really well, and the snows not too soggy, then you may get down without unclipping to scoot. Good luck and enjoy your holiday. We go back out late Feb.

yeah i kinda under stated the skiroad, it is abit of a pain in the arse, but the bits that are of a good gradiant and rideable are very funny for jibbing.
maybe not what u want to be riding after a long day!

re: bansko ski road

i have not skied in bansko yet. is the road you are talking about the one that is floodlit and takes you all the way back to the town?
Also, If you are on skis it it just as hard work as it for a boarder

cheers

Yes, it is tyhe road that will take you back down to the bottom gondola station. You can even ski from the very top of the mountain all the way down to the bottom gondola sttaion if you feel like it and it is a really good experience if you know how best to link the various runs on the mountain.

re: bansko ski road

When we were in Bansko in late april we drove up the mountain to where the web cam is. I am assuming that the road we drove up, is the road you can ski down? Or is that no the case.
If it is, then that would be awesome to ski down Very Happy

cheers

Yip, it is the same road. I have always found it a nice way to end the skiing day.
