Don't worry, the only down side is the amount of building thats going on, but I didn't go for a sightseeing holiday I went for a skiing holiday and the views from the mountain are great and the skiing was the best in Bulgaria.
Another reason I went to Bansko was to try and experience a little bit of Bulgaria. When I go on holiday I refuse to go into British/Irish pubs or eat a full English breakfast, I go on holiday to get away from all that, these are the sort of places that you find the ...

Just come back and had a great time. Like others said, there is a lot of building work going on but you do not see it on the slopes or when you are in the hotel or restaurant.

I would really recommend going to the town square and eating at some of the traditional restaurants on it. There is one with a pool inside on your right as you enter the sq. behind a garden and one on the left further down.

Would definitely eat out , can also recommend the one with the pool inside it- try the sausages there. Another very good one is in the same area, but about 100 meters from the ice rink. Sorry can't remember the name but it has 2 or 3 massive barrels outside-the ones that hold wine, not attached to a gun.
