re: bansko

Pistes are well groomed, gondola and lifts are all bretty good, we went last year for first time and pleasantly impressed with the slopes, although snow was ok just not enough to explore off piste, ok cafes/bars on the hill but Bansko town is a bit of a dump, but on the plus side the hotels seem great (Kempinski was excellent) and a good ski road to get back down at night, one of the high lights of the day for us, drink late as the lifts close and come down just as it gets dark. Oh and lift pass, lessons etc. very cheap. It's a mixed bag and we probably aren't going back, if your used to Austria, Italy, France, there is something missing. Saying that we would return on a last min deal.

re: bansko

sorry Niki

Bansko town is a dump ?

I do not think you went to the same Bansko as me ? can you please explain why a dump ? very old buildings , cobbled stone roads. perhaps you wanted Milton keynes ? If you are talking about the new developments yes, but they are not Bansko town.

re: bansko

well, a tiny corner of it is quaint. The rest is a dump. Or rather, work in progress to be fair. Come back in 5 years and it'll be all spruced up.
