Blades are really good fun and like a few other people have commented, easier to pick up.

The only downsides are they are not great in powder, and if the blades you've bought have non releasable bindings, there is always the danger of injury when falling. (I now use Head Big Easys with releasable bindings).

However, as long as you don't hurtle down the mountain at Bode Miller-like speed you should be fine. Good for tricks too.
