Bansko!

Not to everyone's taste but personally my fave. Old town, great mehanas, picturesque and good skiing. Always worth trying other places to see if you find somewhere else you prefer though of course there is old addage "stick with what you know" - depends on how adventurous you are I guess.

Cool

As Kim said Bansko, have been to Pamps 5 time and Bansko twice but off again in March.
Love Pamps but Bansko even more and if you know where to go you can eat and drink for. Less than Pamps.

I've been to all 3 and Bansko has got my vote.

It has some problems but on the whole it is cheaper has the best piste skiing and has something for everyone.

The Guinness is very very nice and close to the gondola.
A lot of the hotels in Bansko are of a very high standard to be fair, i don't think you will go wrong. Kempinski is ultra fab if you want to spoil yourselves??

Hi Louise

I stayed at the Perun my first 2 years out there. Really loved it. Great rooms, facilities, hot food etc. Loved the pool and the outside jacuzzi - ah - memories of sitting in there gazing at the stars and snow!!!

They run shuttle buses very regularly to the Gondola although it only a 10 min wander (and my son and I wander slowly!) away.

I tend to go independent these days but have very fond memories of the Perun.

Have also stayed in the Kempinski (last year before another independent trip) - as Bea says - "ultra fab". On the slopes at base of gondola and luxury, beaut, nice!!! Check out some websites and you will get a feel for the places - Google them - loads of info on Net. Other folk have stayed at Lion (opposite Perun) and good reports. Another nice hotel I think is the Tanne (went there for a meal and used their swimming facilities last year) - just over the road and down abit from Perun - I think one of the older hotels in Bansko but very nice.

Generally as Bea says - think they all pretty good!
