Hi All
Just returned home from Borovets and willing to offer any advice that I can?
Make sure you buy your lift passes in the UK before u leave-No Joke- almost double in the resort!
Exchange rate 2.03 to pound and expensive for food/drink. Avoid the white house at the top of the Gondola-This is the most expensive and poorest of them all.
Ski Snow conditions were good and most slopes were open,
Take a walk out of town to the bottom of the hill, there is a bar/restaurant there (mainly for the locals can not remember its name) 1.5 lev for a bottle of beer and I fed the family (3 of us) one lunchtime for under 10 lev inc drinks.
Maybe, I think so, near the bend in the road. You should all go there. I fear and it is such a shame but the Boro Mafia (Those who wear leather jackets ) should read the story about the goose who laid the golden eggs.
.............also (you may guess my head is still there) Revolution Bar, great covers band 4pm onwards called GANG, if you think you may like Noel with a Bulgarian accent , you will love it !!!!!!!!
Seriously a great Apres Ski laugh before you get back to the hotel for 'sss' then a ight on the tiles.
PS Salamander Bar/Restaurant serve REAL CHIPS !!!!!!
I have been to Bulgaris three times. 2008. 2007 and 2006 and will never return to the country again. They want to make a fast buck out of the British holiday maker. Any opportuntity, they will attempt to rip you off. They want to make a fast buck out of the British holiday maker. Any opportuntity, they will attempt to rip you off. The food and drinks in some of the establisments are not far from th top prices of French resorts. The food in the hotels are generally very poor, the locals are NOT welcom to the British holiday maker. Go to Austria beter snow, better locals and you are made more welcome. I do not wish to offend any pro Bulgarian but the resorts ars nothing more than third world. It sucks....
Scott just had a tex off mates of mine who are out in bov now... its abt £2 a pint....ouch....lol im off there next sat so i need to re think me cash...lol
That's such a shame. I think that I have found thieves and con-artists in every country I have visited (including UK, and most certainly in Austrian ski resorts) - sadly it is a nasty symptom of human greed. However, I have found Bulgarians to be some of the nicest, friendliest people I have met. Maybe it helps that I have taken the time to learn a few phrases in their language - it makes a big difference as is shows some respect for their country and culture. I think that tourists ...

I think that tourists everywhere need to be on their guard as most tourist resorts are rife with rip-offs. To those of you who have booked your holidays - please don't be put off. I'm heading back there next week with my family and can't wait.
