re: bulgaria currency

Plenty of cash points around the Square in Bansko & in the Sofia Airport. I have never taken any cash with me just my ATM cards.

You can get Beers for 0.8 Lev in some places but they range from that up to 2.50Lev.

I really like the place its such a good chance to totally isolate yourself from the outside world. We went for 2 weeks in Summer last year - didnt have/see any news for the whole time and only met one other English couple and only then for a couple of hours in a nice bar ...

BNB looking good then. Sorry, you may have missed my post above, but is this the final rate, or do they sting you for 2% commission?

Mind you if, even it is 2% - £1000 cash at 2.51 with £20 fee is still a better rate than the best rate in UK by 6stotiwhatevers

re: bulgaria currency

In all my visits to Bulgaria, I have never paid commission in either of the two banks in Question. The last four years I have only used my Nationwide FlexiCard. Top it up before I go and whatever ATM I use throughout Bulgaria, no charges
