bulgaria is the pits

dont do Bulgaria it's a rip off

You can go to places in Austria on the same budget!!!

BEtter training better food better service more slopes. it's cleaner and they have more respect for tourists. Bulgaria has been ruined by the greed, western investors and corrupt governments. Bansko is so badly maintained that on a busy day it is dangerous, the slopes are full of halfwits who have been once and don't think they need an instructor, and the place has become completley over crowded ...

re: bulgaria is the pits

Angry, I agree with a lot of what you are saying but having done Bansko last year, Austria this Jan; yes better maintained slopes, no lift queues, nicer food on the slopes, better facilities, it was so expensive we couldn't afford private snowboard lessons and at the cheapest £3.70 a pint and £10 for gin tonic we could hardly afford to drink, the atmosphere on the slopes was also rather sterile. One thing it did was make us come home and rattle the piggybank to book a return trip to Bansko ...

One thing it did was make us come home and rattle the piggybank to book a return trip to Bansko this March, just to have some fun on the slopes.

re: bulgaria is the pits

Didn't hear good reports about the Property market. The only thing we were told by "those in the know" is DO NOT buy off plan or a development. Build yourself. And build around the resorts not in them. The developments are only guaranteed for 5 years after which they are likely to fall down.......

re: bulgaria is the pits

With the Euro coming in soon - the prices will rise , its always the same. I used to like Andorra , before the Euro is was cheap , good fun - big change after the Euro came in. Was in Bansko 2 years ago , thought the drink was very cheap. Even with a 25% hike , must stil be half what we were paying in Switzerland a few years ago.

I have been looking into buying a place in Bansko myself , but think I will look else where ......Arrive in 5 days , so keeping an open mind.

re: bulgaria is the pits

I not stopping anyone saying whatever they wish - but a series of random rants with nothing specific is not much use to anyone and deserves a jocular response.
