re: buying equipment

as above really, unless you've tried on the boot and then go and buy online then you're taking a risk

maybe try on some different brands and sizes first

100% agree, you can get the same size boots in different brands, and the fit will be completely different. Just think how rotten your feet felt in hire boots that maybe weren't fitted properly to your feet, not worth wasting your money buying if you aren't getting them fitted correctly

re: buying equipment

I would love to get to a shop and try some on but i'm in Jersey and there are no shops selling snowboard boots over here Sad
And i can't afford to fly to the UK just to try some on, might have to wait until I get to Bansko and hope the prices aren't too exorbitant.
I was thinking a half size up would be fairly save.

Ski boots over there were slightly cheaper than the uk. Skis were quiet pricey. Don't board but would imagine very similar.

re: buying equipment

I bought a pair of boots from ebay, they are absolutely brilliant. However my wife bought some from a ski shop that weren't fitted correctly and they are awfull. As long as you aren't risking a fortune ebay is a good shout, you can always sell them on if they're not good for you. You may even make enough money to buy two pairs.(I dont know what the postage would be to Jersey though, it may make it not viable) Sorry I ended with a negative.
