The kids classes finishing earlier than the adults can be a problem. The instructor does wait with them but can get 'cheesed off' if it happens regularly. I usually speak to parents of other children in class and work out a rota. We then wait with them at bottom of Rila slope until adults come back down, usually drinking! Works well and you get to know more people too.
We usually book with Balkan and stay in the Rila, for convenience - location and kids know their way around. They use Borosport, which some like and others don't. I have found that if there is a problem go and battle (sweetly but firmly) with the directors and it will be sorted. Balkan offer loyalty discount for repeat bookings. Have seen complaints about all tour companies. Must say though, when we were stuck at Sofia earlier this year due to fog, the Balkan reps were brilliant. ...

I would say just do what you want, the ski schools certainly in Bansko are the most disorganised that I've every seen.
There seems to be no grading sytems people just go where the want and the instructors don't soeam to bother.

We also has the family from hell in our class Mum, Dad and three kids. The kids didn't listen to the instructor and the parents didn't bother trying to keep the kids behaviour in check.
After day one I skied with the class in the morning and in the afternnon skied with friends who had also been put in very mixed ability groups.
So my advice to you is do what you think best as a parent.
The ski school was very poor but I more than made up for it with some good skiing with my mates in the afternoon.
