dry slope boarding

I'm heading to pamps in 3 weeks to attempt snowboarding, would it be a good idea to have a lesson on a dry slope first, or is it just a waste of money?

Have as many lessons as you can, they can only help, thats what i'd do and did.

re: dry slope boarding

waste of money, nothing like the real thing but will get you use to strapping the board on and shuffling around, but if your having lessons youll be doing loads of that anyway

Dry slope is very very bad in my opinion. If you can I would recommend you go to one of the Xscape centres. I learned to board in the Milton Keynes one and it was awesome.

With only 3 weeks to go you don't want to risk falling badly on a dry slope, they can be painful.

re: dry slope boarding

I first learnt on a dry ski slope, can be very painful, went to Xscape in Castleford for the 1st time last month and, would definitly pay the extra compared to dry ski slopes and go abck to Xscape again.

Dry slopes are ace if they've got that new fangled astro turf type stuff.
Def not as good as the real thing but cheaper than the xscape prices and a lot more fun.
Well, thats going by xscape castelford and sheffield ski village( which i love). Very Happy

re: dry slope boarding

Did lessons at excape before we went and were on slopes from day one and other people were in classes of 18+ going up and down a small slope, I think we did the right thing, not sure about dry slopes
