we are flying with easyjetty in March, although we have flown with them before we have always paid for food on the plane, now i'm not being tight but the food is pretty crap and i don't really like it, so can anyone tell me if they allow you to take your own, don't worry i'm not taking anything like a BBQ on just crisps sandwiches maybe a few bits of chicken.
they dont usually let u take any food or drink past security you can only get food afterthem in the cafe etc to take with. I was made to throw food and drink away when flying last time
I have packed food in my hand luggage before to take out to our apartment eg cereal, crisps etc and not had any problems. We have taken sandwiches onboard as well.
Took food through security before, obviously just liquids you can't take. We didn't book the airline meal on our last hol, first time ever, got Boots sarnies and crisps, looked better than the muck that was served up. It's the way forward for us now!
I took pot noodles last time and just asked for hot water. This apparently is not allowed so you have to ask for tea but without the tea bag (and it costs the same as a cup of tea) - but at least its hot and sort of filling - I did remember to take some plastic forks with me too.
On the return leg, we got hot water from the coffee bar in the airport in Pamps - Bulgarians more than happy to provide free hot water!
I've never had a problem with EJ taking sandwiches, crisps, etc - just ...

Pot Noodle on the plane, what a fab idea!!! I've flown BA on short hop flights within the UK before now, and you could get slices of pizza!!! Gone to Fly may-Be now, no such luck with them.
Anyway, can I ask a question? What is with airlines that have "Celebrity Chef" inspired sarnies - it's a flippin' chicken salad sandwich, for gawds sake! Did it take James Martin to come up with that recipe!?!?
They don't take food off you at security - just liquids.
I usually take food on the plane and have never had a problem with that - drinks as well, as long as you buy after security. Boots do an excellent "Meal Deal" for £3.49. Bargain.
This year however we did get a bottle of whisky confiscated on the plane (returned at the end). But by that time we were near the bottom and had forgotten to be discreet with it...
