can we find good food (NON bulgarian) in Bansko?

I thought the bulgarian food in the local Mehanas in Bansko was lovely but if you want more western food go to the Golden Fox or the Steakhouse restaurants which serve good pizzas, steaks etc.Do try the mehanas though. When in Rome etc etc etc

I would suggest you dont bother going
Nothing wrong with the food in some places. Yes in the hotels it is not always michelin * quality but it is edible. I you have that kind of attitude before you go you may as well stay at home. re: food
Usual snide answer from Mr Snell, who has just been appointed on the Admin Team to monitor the board!!!!He has a point, the food in the hotels is okish, lukewarm, but edible.Having only gone to Borovets, cant help with places to eat, but sure there are some helpfull people on this site who can assist you

thats is nots a helpful replys danielsir.justs because chickiemouse wants to go skiing it doesn't meens she has to eat foods she mights not lick. you says thats there is nothings wrong with the food is some places so thats meeens there is something wrong with the food in other places i haves not beens to bansko chickiemouse but i have beens to borovets and i ams a fussy eater. i found lots of places to eat thats i licked. so i thinks you will be ok. and danielsir maybes you should stop ...

Gidday Chickiemouse.Don't worry. Where ever you go in the world there will always be people that say somthing bad about a place. If you don't want to eat the local dishes, there are plenty of other places to try ie pizzas etc but give the local food a try. Most of the resturants translate their menu's into english and trust me, there are some very nice dishes.
Have fun. Bansko is a great place.

I'd have thought the idea about a foreign holidays was to try the culture and taste different foods, give it ago first. Although most hotels are'nt the best try bulgarian food in the local restaurants it might pleasantly supprise you.re: food
Snide answer cl? Maybe but people like this really annoy me. Why bother going abroad if you are not even willing to try the food??? The poster has not even been to Bansko and has already made up her mind that the food is crap!!!! Sounds like typical brits abroad. Mc Donalds anyone?re: food

Helpfull comment for you CL. Chickiemouse get a backbone and dont belive the rubbish people tell you about Bulgaria. Go with an open mind and try things you might like them!!!!
